‘Indian 3’ To Be Shelved?

Things are looking really bad for S Shankar right now.

Following the disastrous outcome of ‘Indian 2’, there were reports that ‘Indian 3’ would be an OTT only venture, though Shankar denied the rumors. However, now that Netflix has developed second thoughts over backing ‘Indian 3’, it looks like the worst is yet to come for Shankar. ‘Indian 2’ was the comeback project for S Shankar, whose last project was ‘2.0’, the sequel to ‘ Enthiran Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, which released in 2017. Following multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film finally released in 2024. However, compared to the 1996 classic, the sequel was a complete washout, earning barely 150 crores worldwide over a budget of 300 crores.

If this was enough, Shankar’s debut venture in Telugu i.e. ‘Game Changer’ fared even worse. Made on a budget of around 450 crores, the movie earned barely 176 crores worldwide, making it a second commercial failure in a row for S Shankar.
