Plot

Siva and Rosy are in love with each other. To impress Rosy, Siva buys everything, right from bike to car, in easy instalments. Without calculating his monthly debit deeply, he buys everything to show off. This brings him into big trouble, leading to a mental strain. What happened next? Did he settle all his debts? The rest of the film focuses on it.

Star Performance

Sadasivam should improve his performance a little. Sai Dhanya did what was required for her role. Pandi, Aadhavan, Perarasu, and Manohar are decent in their roles.

Analysis

The director has taken a good concept. However, he should’ve concentrated more on screenplay. Though the screenplay moves at a brisk pace, we can feel something is missing. The performances are decent, but some characters lack the needed depth. Aadhavan and Pandi’s characters are relatable to the real-life characters, and Perarasu’s character is quite decent. The cinematography is just okay, and it doesn’t bring eye-pleasing visuals. Editing is average. The BGM is okay.

Verdict

EMI is a good lesson for the people who buy everything in instalments. Despite the flaws, the film has a thought-provoking theme that makes it watchable once!
