,” the Governor, Banwari Lal Purohit had relieved Mr. M Manikandan from the cabinet and appointed Mr. RB Udhayakumar as the Information And Technology Minister. Udhaykumar is the Minister for Revenue And Disaster Management. Now he will be handling both the departments. This is the first time a Minister has been removed from the Palaniswami government. Here is the press release from Raj Bhavan:
“The honorable governor of Tamilnadu has accepted the recommendation of the chief minister to drop Dr M Manikandan Minister for Information Technology from the council of ministers. Based on the recommendation of the chief minister, the portfolio of Information Technology has been re-allocated to RB Udhayakumar, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, who shall be re-designated as Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management and Information Technology.”
