“Nayantara,” who has been called by her fans with the epithet Lady Superstar, performed in “
Aramm,” a sociopolitical thriller directed by
Gopi Nainar. She played the district collector in the film and had impressed the viewers. This movie is one of the few women-centric films that had a decent box office collection. In fact, it superseded the collection of some leading heroes’ films that released at the same time. In Aramm, Nayan had used just two Saris; one in the village while rescuing the kid and the other while meeting the senior officer. The Sari, which she wore during the rescue process, is a grey shaded one.
Om Prakash, the cinematographer of the film revealed the secret behind the pale shade. Although the Sari looks dull, it is the only color that suits the dry place. If Nayan had used a bright color Sari like the one she wore while meeting the officer, it would have looked odd to the situation, where she meets the infertile land, the villagers with a heap of problems. Om says that he decided to use the gray shaded background in the film, after hearing the script. Om Prakash praises Nayan for her dedication. Om has used a special lens to picture the borewell scenes, to create a frightening atmosphere.
