Nayanthara’s controversial ‘Annapoorani’ is back on OTT!
However, this OTT release has a slight twist. Indian viewers won’t be able to watch it online. According to the recent reports, Nayanthara’s culinary drama will be streaming on the OTT platform ‘Simply South’, but it won’t be streaming it in India.

’ and ‘Animal’, i.e. 1 December, and despite its promising premise, emerged as a commercial failure. The film managed an overall revenue of 5.7 crores, and this was only months after Nayanthara made a successful debut in Hindi cinema through ‘Jawan’.
However, when ‘Annapoorani’ released on OTT, it caused a furore amongst both the cinephiles and some sections of Hindus, who were enraged at the mockery of the Indian culture, and its alleged appeasement tactics. Even the normal moviebuffs were surprised at the way the story was proceeding, with no base in either logic or reality.
Ultimately, the film was pulled down by Netflix India. This was one of the rarest instances when an Indian movie was pulled down from an OTT platform due to public pressure.
