Maanaadu Heads To Japan

4 years after surprising both Kollywood and the rest of India with its innovative concepts, Silambarasan TR is now headed to Japan with Maanaadu.

Starring Silambarasan TR, SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan Kalyani Priyadarshan is an Assistant Art Director >> Read More... etc. in prominent roles, the movie was a political action thriller with a science fiction angle. The movie was released in November 2021, and even though restrictions were still imposed on cinema halls due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maanaadu surprised one and all by its unique approach, and the brilliant performances of Silambarasan TR and SJ Suryah.

The movie earned 117 crores worldwide, restoring Silambarasan TR’s status as a bankable star in Kollywood for the next few years. There are reports that a sequel will be made as well, though it remains to be seen when.
