It Is Not Jallikattu But Aeru Thazhuvudhal – Kamal Haasan

Tamilnadu’s Jallikattu is considered to be a cultural sport, which was created for the welfare of the bulls. There is a reason behind Jallikattu, which had been followed by the Tamils for several thousands of years. To make the livestock have a healthy life, the cultural sports Jallikattu has been followed. This doesn’t harm the bullocks but is meant just for taming them. If Jallikattu is banned, the survival of the livestock becomes a big question mark. People who are unaware of Jallikattu raise their voice against it. Recently, Kamal Haasan spoke about Jallikattu. He said, “Instead of addressing it as Jallikattu, it should be rightly called as Aeru Thazhuvudhal. The term Aeru Thazhuvudhal attracts people than the word Jallikattu. In western countries, people host Bull Fight. People who participate in the Bull Fights don’t have affection on the bulls. But in Tamilnadu, the bulls are tamed with lots of love and affection.”
