The actress talked about the ostracism she faced from the Mollywood community after her first film, Chakram got stalled.

Vidya Balan mentioned that because of her replacement from Chakram, she was labeled a jinx, and she lost multiple films throughout the Indian film industry. She had to struggle a lot to regain her identity.

The movie Chakram was set to be Vidya Balan’s acting debut. Vidya later made debut through the Bengali movie Bhalo Theko, followed by her breakthrough debut with the Hindi movie Parineeta, which was based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel of the same name and was a significant commercial success.  

Interestingly, Vidya Balan returned to the Malayalam movies as a prominent star in the fantasy drama Urumi, which released in 2011.
