Janaki Vs State Of Kerala To Release With Modified Title And Cuts

The makers of Janaki vs State of Kerala have surrendered.

According to the recent reports, before the verdict was announced, the producers decided to agree to the cuts and the title change required by the CBFC’s Mumbai wing.

The movie will now release as Janaki V vs State of Kerala. Directed by Pravin Narayanan, the movie stars Anupama Parameswaran in a Malayalam movie after a long time. The film came into controversy over the objections of CBFC in context to the title. This led to widespread protests, and the director filed an appeal against the same in the Kerala High Court. The jury had also reviewed the movie before a verdict could be pronounced.

However, according to the legal counsel representing the film, the producers decided to agree to the changes at the last minute, because of the losses incurred by the inevitable delay. Even though the case would have been won anyway, the producers decided to take the easier way out.
