Supreme Court pronounced its verdict relating to the entry of women inside Sabarimala temple. It is traditional to allow the girls below 10 and women above 50 into the Sabarimala shrine. The women between 10 and 50 are banned from entering the shrine. When a case had been filed and the Apex court released the verdict by lifting the ban, a review petition had been filed and the five-judge bench read the verdict.
CJI Ranjan Gogoi speaks about the individual right to worship at the temple and the tradition. The Sabarimala case is compared to that of Muslim women entering a mosque and the cases of Parsi women and Dawoodi Bora. As all the five judges have a few differences of opinion, the case had been referred to the seven-judge bench.
