Sabarimala is considered as one of the holy places of Hindus. A tradition had been followed in the temple for centuries. Women of 50+ and the girl children below 10 are allowed to enter the temple. But, some movements filed a case to allow everyone into the Ayyappa shrine without gender inequality. In 2018, Apex court lifted the ban and allowed to enter the women inside the shrine. But, another case had been filed to review the verdict and the verdict is due today at the Supreme Court. The Sabarimala temple will be opened to the public on 16th November 2019 for the Mandala Season. CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justices RF Nariman, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra will be pronouncing the verdict shortly.
