Upendra’s ‘A’ To Re Release In Theatres

Looks like Upendra has also joined the re release bandwagon!

According to the recent reports, Upendra’s iconic movie ‘A’ will re release in the theatres. This was Upendra’s acting debut, for he had also written, as well as directed the film. The film starred Upendra, Chandni and Archana in the lead roles.

This movie was not just a psychological thriller, it was a life changing risk for Upendra, which surprisingly worked. Made on a budget less than 2 crores, the movie was released in 1998, and earned more than 20 crores worldwide. The movie’s Telugu dub was equally popular.

Interestingly, this movie has an ‘Animal’ connect. While the movie was not the main inspiration for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘ ANIMAL Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, it did attract equal criticism from self proclaimed critics about its controversial theme. It was another matter that the audience tossed the criticism into the bin as they made this film a massive success.

Meanwhile, Upendra is preparing for multiple projects. After almost a decade, he is returning as a director for UI. Despite ‘Kabzaa’ tanking at the box office, director R Chandru has shown interest in its sequel. It would be interesting to see if Upendra is a part of the same.
