Top 10 Cliffhangers Of Indian Television

Top 10 Cliffhangers Of Indian Television Hindi Article

Tempered and seasoned with high voltage drama, Indian serials have made their way into every Indian household. The way that it engages its audience and gets them tucked into their couches is commendable. Some reiterating situations that arise suspense among the Indian population have perhaps made some cliffhangers a custom for every other tv serial. Let us read through some of them with a cup of ginger tea and some popcorn.

1. The exaggerated emotional reactions

Whether it’s the revelation of a big truth, getting slapped, or an allegation being imposed, the Indian television delivers a substantial impact on the viewers by zooming shots and using dramatic music in the background. Mainly the seriousness of the situation is brought out by multiple repetitions of head movements and facial expressions of the actors. The Rashi-Rasoda-Kokilaben episode from "Saath Nibhana Saathiya" of Star Plus is composed of nothing less. The mystery of who took the chana out of the cooker became the root of the drama that gave birth to a dramatic sequence.

2. A not so “get along with” kind of relationship

Most Indian serials portray an unfriendly relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law to fuel the drama. The mother-in-law often seems to empoison her son against his wife. She constantly hatches conspiracies to defame her daughter-in-law to the point where she can’t bear it anymore. Fights are usually picked over petty issues to engage the viewers. The never-ending dispute between Ishwari and Sonakshi in “Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi” of Sony is an apt example of such relationships in the tv serials.

3. The all-time baddie

Just like the evenings that are incomplete without your favorite TV serials, TV serials are incomplete without the presence of a villain who often comes up with diabolical plots to ruin the lives of the protagonists. They are devoted to wickedness and the sole purpose of their lives is to make sure that the others are never out of trouble. Komolika from “Kasauti Zindagi Ki” of Star Plus is a perfect fit for this title.

4. Piously self-assured and moralistic Indian daughter-in-law who can make everything right

Every family-based Indian serial has that one daughter-in-law for whom no obstacle is a hindrance and she can solve anything with just a snap of her finger. Be it saving a family member from ordeals or being a shield against the odds, she makes sure to do it all. To name a few, Tulsi in “Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, Akshara in “ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is a Hindi drama serial >> Read More... ,” and Anupama Anupama in the English language means ‘incomparabl >> Read More... in “Anupama” are good examples.

5. Marriages, marriages, and marriages!

Who doesn’t like a vibrant, intricately planned Hindu marriage ceremony? Keeping this in mind, the Indian television directors bring on the celebration of Indian marriages time and again in the serials. Most of the time, Indian serials have the same characters married to spice things up. Ekta Kapoor’s “Ye Hai Mohabbatein” and “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain” are perfect examples of the number of marriages portrayed in Indian TV serials.

6. Playing gooseberry

The curiosity among the audience is increased by cooking misunderstandings between the love-birds of the story. There is often a third person who creates hurdles between the two. If not this, most serials have a love triangle which heightens the drama to a whole different level. The high voltage drama in “Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Meh” is aroused by the love triangle among Virat, Sai, and Pakhi who are the main characters of the plot.

7. Grandparents who never grow old

We can often see an old couple that witnesses generation after generation without getting much older themselves. The old generation in “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” has become immortal as they have lived through many generations.

8. Complicated superstitions

Baseless superstitions add flavours and give a little brief of the upcoming turns of the serials. The famous TV shows from Zee TV such as “ Kala Tikka Kala Tikka is a Telugu television soap opera. This >> Read More... ” and “Naagin,” are based on the superstitious beliefs of the society.

9. Immortality through reincarnations

The suspense among the audience is created by reincarnating the characters of the show who have a completely different personality from the previous one. This is how the twists and turns are introduced in the show to get hold of its viewers. “ Aladdin Aladdin - Jaanbaaz Ek Jalwe Anek brings to you the >> Read More... ” aired on Sony Sab showcases the reincarnation of the protagonists.

10. Happy cringe!

From the time the dupatta entangles with the hero’s wrist to the actresses talking to the non-living objects, there are multiple instances where things get cringy all at once. It’s insane how the characters act at times. As the viewers stay glued to the television, they still get entertained by these cheesy moments, and their excitement doesn’t die. The whole “Naagin” series is a big mess full of cringe, just like the one I did with the title which was supposed to be Happy Binge!
