There are certain films that are good and then there are some that make you feel disgusted. However, there are also certain movies that stay with you always. With the new era and the concept of making sequels to films and also re-making them, we often come across certain ones that we feel should never be made again. There is always something special about them; it may be the story, the performances, the direction, and many other features which make us feel that they cannot be and should not be replaced. Though over the years, many films have been remade either appropriately or not. We have a list of films that we believe should never be remade because the magic created by them cannot be created again.

1. Mother India

Topping every list of the best movies ever made, the 1957 film, Mother India is one such film that we do not want to be made again. A typical Hindi epic drama, this movie wins hearts. It has Nargis, Sunil Dutt, Rajendra Kumar, and Raaj Kumar. The story is about a poor but an extremely upright woman named Radha who fights against everyone to raise her children. She goes against the greedy moneylender, Sukhilala. In spite of the numerous thorns on her path and the struggles and sacrifices she has to make, there are two things she never gives up, her strength and integrity.

2. Pyaasa

A 1957 film which continues to be one of the most appreciated and best Bollywood films ever made. It stars Guru Dutt, Waheeda Rehman, Mala Sinha, Johnny Walker, and Rehman. The story is about a poet, Vijay who faces constant rejection at work in spite of his numerous efforts. His life changes when a good-hearted prostitute, Gulabo enters his life. She falls in love with him as well as his work and tries to help him.

3. Mughal-e-Azam

Mughal-e-Azam is a 1960 Hindi historical and romantic drama film with the cast of Dilip Kumar, Prithviraj Kapoor, Madhubala, and Durga Khote. Mughal-e-Azam is that one film which is a must in the list of the best movies ever made in Bollywood. The story is about Salim, the son of an emperor who falls in love with an extremely attractive courtesan. The only thing he wants is to be with the woman. He is even ready to fight with his father for her.

4. Mera Naam Joker

There might hardly be anyone who has not heard about this film. Talks about this movie even go on till today. The story is about Raju played by Raj Kapoor who faces many troubles and disappointments in his childhood. However, he grows up to work as a joker in a circus. On account of this, he leaves everything, that is, his sorrow behind with his key intention being to make people laugh by forgetting his troubles.

5. Anand

Anand, released in 1971, is one such film that marks a level of excellence in Indian cinema not only on account of the story but also because it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, and Sumita Sanyal. There is nobody who can create the magic that this film made. The story revolves around Anand, who is a cancer patient. For the time that he is alive, he teaches everyone around him the essence of life. He inspires his doctor, Bhaskar who writes a book on Anand after his death.

6. Sholay

Another film that has made a mark in the history of Indian cinema is Sholay released in 1975. A film whose dialogues are recited everywhere we go. Thakur Baldev Singh hires two small-time crooks, Jai and Veeru to kill Gabbar who is a dacoit, as revenge for the loss of his entire family and to protect the lives of the other people in the village of Ramgarh. It also has a cast including the best actors like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri, Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar, and Amjad Khan.

7. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron is a 1983 Hindi comedy film. Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Ravi Baswani, and Pankaj Kapur play the lead amongst the others. The film talks about the lives of two professional photographers who work under the editor of a newspaper. Things take a turn when they accidently capture a murder and thus expose a corrupt builder.

8. Mr. India

Released in 1987, Mr. India is one movie that is very hard to forget and stars Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. It shows the life of Arun who takes care of orphaned kids. Things take a turn when a gangster harasses him and also kills one of the kids. Arun then uses the invisibility watch created by his father to fight him.

9. Andaaz Apna Apna

Released in 1994, Andaaz Apna Apna starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan is a comedy film. It is about the lives of two boys, Amar and Prem who are born to middle-class families but they dream big for their lives. Their dreams can be fulfilled only when they can win over the hearts of a multimillionaire’s daughter and thus become the heir.

10. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

This film, released in 1995, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol set the trend for other romantic films in the following years but those could never take its place. The story is about how Raj and Simran who have contrastingly different characters fall in love only to fight to be together by winning over the heart of Simran’s father who has already fixed her marriage to someone else.
