He was born on 24 January 1945 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He has his own company, Mukta Arts Private Limited. He received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues in 2006. Here is the list of films directed by him.

1. Kaanchi The Unbreakable

The film Kanchi is about women’s empowerment. Kanchi or Sigdi lives in the village of Koshampa with her sister and mother. Binda is her childhood friend. They are in love. Their families agreed to their marriage. Kakda is a family who wants to capture their village to make it an industrial site. She is a strong girl. She fights for her village. Sushant is the son of Shyam Kakda. He wants to marry her. But she does not want to marry him. Now, he kills Binda in front of her. For this, she wants revenge. She goes to Mumbai to expose the Kakda family.

2. Yuvvraaj

The film Yuvvraaj is about inheriting the wealth of the family. Deven Yuvvraaj Singh or Dev wants to become a singer. Anushka is his girlfriend. Her father, Dr. P. K. Banton does not like him because he is not a rich man. Now, he signs an agreement. It says that within forty days, he will become a billionaire. The film Yaadein is inspired by the novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Raj Singh Puri and Lalit Malhotra are best friends. His elder brother is J. K. Malhotra. They are wealthy businessmen from London. Nalini is Lalit’s wife. Ronit is their son. He is lonely as his parents do not have time for him. Shalini is the late wife of Raj. They have three daughters. They are Avantika, married to Pankaj, Saania married to Sukant, her boyfriend, and Isha does not believe in love. But Isha and Ronit fall in love. But his parents want him to marry Monishka Rai. They want to expand their business. This creates complications.

6. Taal

The film Taal is about music and dance. Jagmohan Mehta visits Chamba for vacation with his family. Manav is the son. They are wealthy. They are the owner of the Mehta group of companies. Mansi is the daughter of Tara Shankar Manhuja, a spiritual singer of that town. Jagmohan and Tara become friendly. Manav and Mansi fall in love. But Jagmohan rejects them because she is poor. The film Pardes is about an NRI. Kishorilal is a wealthy man. He lives abroad. He has affection for his hometown in India. Arjun is his adopted son. Rajiv is his biological son. In the village, he meets his friend and his daughter, Ganga. He fixes Rajiv’s marriage to her. But Arjun and Ganga become good friends. He is attracted to her. But she agrees to marry Rajiv. 8. Khalnayak

The film Saudagar is inspired by the play, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Rajeshwar Singh is a rich man’s son and Veer Singh is a poor man’s son. They are known as Raju and Veeru respectively. The kids are good friends. Raju wants his sister to get married to Veeru. But his family demands dowry from her family. But he marries her in front of everyone to save her face. But she commits suicide. Now, Raju considers his friend responsible. Their relationship turns bitter.

10. Ram Lakhan

The film Ram Lakhan is about two brothers. Thakur Pratap Singh and Sharda are a couple. Ram and Lakhan are their sons. Veer Singh is Pratap’s father. Bhishambar and Bhanu are his nephews. They were in prison. When they came out, Veer Singh showed mercy on them. Now, they tricked the others into the family wealth. Ram and Lakhan seek justice.
