Farhan Akthar’s Directorial Debut DCH is one of the best movies till date. For its execution and content, it was way modern and ahead of the time it had been released in the mainstream Indian Industry. Like an ode to the relation of friendships, it opened out the possibilities of things to do with our friends. The moments that will laugh at, cherished with tears, and the kind of friends every group has. That you could fall in love any moment, and it could get years to finally realize the reality of things and choice. The best part being, a short trip to Goa is on every young mind’s bucket list.

2. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This movie was criticized to be somewhat similar to Hollywood’s Hangover, yet it made a mark in the Industry because of its fresh concept in the Industry. This movie taught us that it’s okay to loosen up, conquer fears and taste the victory, falling in love mandatorily and getting over the scars. It had a subtle message to it which encouraged humans to live in the present and shatter the boundaries, stand for your beliefs and most importantly to speak the truth. After watching this movie many young people included Bungee Jumping, Sky Diving, and Underwater Diving to their bucket list. Not to forget the La Tomatina Festival in Spain.

3. Rang De Basanti

Mr. Perfectionist’s movie, where he played a role younger than his real age and received praises. Indeed, one of the best movies, Bollywood has ever seen. From the songs to the dialogues the movie is a perfect blend of tragedy, comedy, and romance. Rigid friendships turn brittle as the plot progresses, yet the core helps save the lives of many others. This movie fanned the sparks of rebellion, which is a phase in almost every teenager or youngster’s life. How standing up for what you believe, has its pros and cons.It is our choice which one to opt for.

4. Wake Up, Sid!

Ranbir Kapoor’s launchpad movie; it was in this movie, we all realized that he is no star kid but a serious actor. A relatable storyline about an irresponsible teenager, who struggles towards self-discovery. Things that happen, or relationships that form and break in the midst of his journey. Even falling in love has a fresh new approach, where the unusual pair falls in love unpredictably. The music of this movie has some intense lyrics and beautiful instrumentals.

5. Udaan

A shattered family life, the character of Rohan is expelled from his school resulting in his shifting with his abusive father. The film revolves around their relationships and how he meets his step brother and saves his life in the journey. This film was critically appreciated and bagged many awards.

6. Rock On!

Reunions! The whole film revolves around a band of friends who reunite and rekindle their faded friendships. The problems they go through, the opinion differences, the rock music! This movie is a lesson about not letting go of our passion in this daily hustle.

7. Lakshya

A confused, aimless, and a lover boy. This movie is the journey of the main character Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan) to find his calling. Despite the circumstances and criticisms, he has a moment where he shines gloriously on the battlefield. This movie expressed itself as nothing comes easy but when it does, life becomes easier!

8. Gippi

Fat shaming! Gippi was a fat girl who had given up on happiness because she thought less of her body and was ridiculed. This movie was mostly for the younger audience, who absorb in certain assumptions that are dictated as the right to them.

9. Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani

After this movie, every second person wanted to travel around the world or be a travelling journalist. It tackles the issue of settled life compared to an independent and a carefree one. The dilemma of should you be chasing your dreams, or chasing your happiness. Wanting butterflies in the stomach or wanting security. It is contentious.

10. Highway

The highway is Alia Bhatt’s breakthrough movie, which helped her to showcase her acting capabilities. The girl gets attracted to her kidnapper. A kidnapped journey of enlightenment. It is outrageous and unusual, yet so acceptable.

11. Queen

Queen has a fresh outlook, towards the after effects of heartbreaks. A Delhi girl is dumped by her beau, a day before their marriage for being less ambitious. She ends up going to the decided Honeymoon destination alone and realizes a lot of things which were oblivious to her. This is one of the best films Bollywood has showcased in terms of women empowerment.
