One of the familiar faces in the Telugu and Tamil entertainment industry, Sudha Garu, is a film and television actress. Having done more than 500 films, Sudha Garu has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. Sudha Garu was born as Hema Sudha in a lower-middle-class family in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. She has four elder brothers and one younger brother. Sudha Garu completed her education till Pre-University Course. She had no plans of entering into the film industry as she always aspired to become a teacher. Since her mother is a theatre artist, she took part in a theatre drama competition in Srirangam, where she played the role of Kundi Devi. From there, Sudha Garu got the chance to act in filmmaker K.Balachander movies. In 1981, Sudha Garu, along with her family, shifted to Chennai, and she started her film career in Kollywood.
