Teja Kakumanu

Teja Kakumanu is a South Indian actor who works in Tollywood. He was born in Dondapadu at his maternal grandfather’s house and was brought up in a small village called Abbarajupalema which is next to Thulluru. He completed his schooling from Mary Matha English Medium High School at Thulluru, Intermediate from PB Siddhartha Junior College and his degree from Sarada Degree College, Vijayawada. He joined student politics at a very young age and became a well-known leader for his activities as a student leader and state level executive for ABVP. Later, he shifted to Hyderabad for further studies and completed his Masters and M.Phil in performing arts from Telugu University. He began his career in acting as a theater artist and acted as Barbareekudu in a play due to the wide media coverage of the play he caught the attention of Rajamouli who later proposed him the role of Saketudu in Bahubali.

Teja has won many awards for his theater performances which include a Nandi and prestige National Award. Before making his debut in Tollywood, the actor had teamed up with budding directors Pradeep Advaitham and Mahesh Kathi Mahesh Kathi is an Indian Film Actor, Critic, Dire >> Read More... who were digging their options at that time. While they both went into direction Teja made his acting debut with the 2015 multi- starrer blockbuster Bahubali where he essayed the role of the treacherous spy Saketudu, who betrays his motherland and sells its secrets to Kalakeya. His performance won him critical accolades from the audience as well as critics. He came to be known as a popular star.
