Geetha was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her father was worked in an MNC. She did her primary schooling in Raghavendra High School, Bangalore. After that their family moved to Chennai. She has completed high schooling in T Nagar Girls High School. She got married in the year 1997. Her husband’s name is Vasan. He works as Charted Accountant and he also works as Business Advisor and Promoter to Corporations. The couple now lives in New Jersey. 

Geetha is a film and TV actress. She has acted in more than 200 films in almost all south Indian languages. She has acted in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. She entered the film industry with the Tamil film ‘Bairavi’ in the year 1978. In this film, she has acted in the role of Rajanikanth’s sister. She was studying 7th standard when she was asked to play this role in the film. She received Kerala state’s Second Best Actress award for the film Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha and Filmfare Award South for Best Actress for the Malayalam film Aadhaaram.

Geetha is an Indian Actress, who has contributed in various cinemas like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. She was born in Bengaluru, Karnataka in the year 1962.

Her debut was in the Tamil cinema where she got the chance to share screen with The South Indian King Rajinikanth as his sister in the movie directed by the Oscar Movies director M Bhaskar and the movie was named Bairavi.  Since her career started, Geetha has been passionate about acting and her passion has helped her in doing 200movies in all which includes doing movies in all South Indian Languages and also in Hindi.  Her talent knew no bounds.  

When she did her first movie, she was in class seven and by class eight she had left her studies to concentrate on her career in the cinema Industry. Her talent was highly appreciated, and she got popularity from the Malayalam film Panchagani where she played the character Indira, and she was titled as Landmark Heroine of the Malayalam Cinema in the year 1986. 

Not only had she impressed the Malayalam audience with her performance but also Kannada cine-goers with her performance in movies alongside stars like Dr. Rajkumar, Ambarish and Vishnu Vardhana.

She has not only acted on the big screen but also has contributed to the small screen in the Tamil language. Her Tamil serials are Kai Elavu Manasu directed by K. Balachander, Rajkumari a recent serial where she played the role of Ramya Krishnan's mother in the serial which was telecasted on the channel Sun TV.

Geetha’s beauty period that is 80s and the 90s got her huge fan following where people would not get tired of praising her grace and glamour.

Like many actresses, Geetha had taken a short break from acting in 1997 after her marriage to a Chartered Accountant named Vasan, who is also an American CPA.

Along with appreciation, she has also won awards like Best Actress award and in the year 1989 she won her second best actress award.
