Ravali was born in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh. Her original name is Sailaja. She changed it first to Apsara and then to Ravali. Her sister’s name is Haritha who is also an actress. She has a brother. Ravali married Neeli Krishna in the year 2007. They have a daughter born in 2008. Her mother tongue is Telugu.

Ravali is a Telugu film and TV actress. She has acted in mainly in Telugu films and has acted in some Kannada, Tamil and Hindi films also. She has entered the film industry with the Tamil film Pattathu Raani in 1992. She did a small role in this film. Her first Telugu film is Alibaba Aradajanu Dongalu released in 1994. She is best known for her acting in the films- Orey Rikshaw (Telugu), Vinodham(Telugu), Pelli Sandadi(Telugu), Shubhakankshalu(Telugu) and Mard(Hindi). She got recognition with the film Orey Rikshaw released in 1995.

Ravli has acted in a socio-mythological serial Namo Venkatesa. This serial was telecasted on Gemini TV. This serial is produced by Saregama Television.
