Masala Kudumbam is a Tamizh serial that was telecasted on Zee Tamizh. It is a comedy serial with a cookery tag attached to it. The entire serial showcases the stupidities and idiosyncrasies of humans and throws light on the goodness behind it. Uma Shankar’s daughter Anjali is in love with a person called Vinod. The upper portion of their house is vacant and hence Anjali calls Vinod to come and stay there. Vinod is actually staying with two of his friends namely Rajkumar and Ashok. The time they vacate and come to Anjali’s house, they realize that Vanasundari (the house owner, also Uma’s mother) will not rent her house to bachelors. Hence, a plan is now devised and Ashok is asked to pretend as a married person. Initially, Ashok agrees but later tells Anjali’s parents that Vinod is married. Therefore, they hire another girl named Anita to pretend as Vinod’s wife. However, as days passes by Anita is becoming a mistaken identity. The entire story revolves around this mistaken identity, cookery and romance. A recipe would be cooked on all episodes. This was the first of its kind Tamil serial, which showcased cookery concept in serials. The entire serial has good dialogue delivery, good performance by the bubbly and young artists, perfect timing and each episode with a MASALA tag added to it. While all serials bring tears in the eyes of the viewers, this serial brings laughter.
