Mohanapriya is an Indian Actress, known for her roles in the Tamil Television Industry. Coming from a background of a normal middle-class family, it took her some time to convince her parents about her choice to become an actress back in the late 1980s. After their permission, another hurdle in her career was to get roles in the television industry. Mohanapriya has revealed in interviews, that although the television industry is very broad in Tamil Nadu, it is difficult to find relevant and significant roles amongst the wide pool of talented aspiring actors in the state. One of another struggle on her part was to train and get experience in the acting circuit and hence in the early 1990s; she started doing small roles in television to polish her acting skills and enhance to become a professional artist.

Mohanapriya, who is originally from Madurai, Tamil Nadu shifted to the capital city of the state, Chennai, for the shooting of the numerous television shows for daily Tamil soap opera networks. Even after doing multiple small projects in Tamil television, it was difficult for Mohanapriya to embark a good start. She garnered her fame as an impeccable television actress with her show “ Marmadesam Marmadesam, which means a mysterious land, is a my >> Read More... ”. The show started in the late 1990s and marked the start of Mohanapriya’s professional television career. She played the role of Amsavalli. She continued working for the show in the subsequent two sequels, which included the second and the most popular edition called “Vidaathu Karuppu”, and the last edition was Edhuvum Nadakkum.

The show was based on a novel and helped Mohanapriya reach the level of fame she currently enjoys. Mohanapriya has also played the lead role in the hit Sun TV show “ Oru Kaidhiyin Sila Kilai Kathaigal Oru Kaidhiyin Sila Kilai Kadhaigal is an old famil >> Read More... ”. The show was telecasted in the late 1990s and was also a huge part of the veteran actress’ career. Apart from her acting career, she is also a philanthropist and was briefly involved with Tamil Nadu’s education driven NGOs. Mohanapriya also made an appearance on the popular chat show of the Tamil language called “Kelvi Paathi Kindal Paathi”. Her episode was telecasted on the 25th of June 2014. Being a light-hearted chat show, it allowed Mohanapriya to interact with her fans and share her life experiences in an interesting format. After her appearance on the chat show, Mohanapriya has not been seen in any significant roles in television or films.
