V. Natarajan is also known as Pyramid Natarajan is a well-known Tamil film actor cum producer who has been working in the Tamil show business industry for four decades now as an actor, producer, content creator, and film distributor. He has acted in over ten movies and has been the member of the Government Body formed to deal with Film Industry and has also been an Advisory Committee Member on Film Taxation as well as been the Examining Committee Member of Central Board of Film Certification for the full tenure of 3 years during the 90s.
V. Natarajan born in a village named Valoothoor near Papanasam, in Tamil Nadu. Natrajan did his preliminary schooling from Shaukathul Islam Balya Muslim Sangam Higher Elementary School and then made his journey to Madras as a young boy to conquer his dreams of becoming an actor.
For a short period, he joined K. Balachandar's drama troupe, Ragini Recreations. It was his love for drama and theatre that gave him the inspiration to start his own troupe and stage his own plays. This, in turn, gave him the kick he needed for his career.
All these events brought to him the opportunity to become the executive producer of the Gemini Films which was an experience for learning the nuances of film administration. V. Natarajan held on to his dreams to successfully go on to make a great career out of it.
His first project was “Penn Ondru Kandaen” which was a well-made film but could not, however, do good business. He, however, was not among the ones who would mourn their failure; he significantly worked harder and did not make the same mistake twice.
A man of profound thought V. Natarajan seeks knowledge and advice from people all around him. He also cherishes the ideas and advice of the young minds because he knows that though age brings experience, young minds bring into the freshness and innovation. K. Balachandar saw the potential in V. Natarajan and started a company along with him called Kavithalayaa Productions as a joint production company.

This production company went on to produce “Roja” which became one of the most loved and critically appreciated movies in the Indian Cinema history. V. Natarajan also introduced A.R. Rahman to the world as Natarajan became Rahman’s first producer who went on to become India’s only Music Composer to win an Oscar a highly prestigious award. V. Natarajan not only understood his craft but also had an eye for talent.
Years later, Rahman was in London for his “Bombay Dreams” while Natarajan also happened to be there and Rahman introduced Natrajan as his first producer to Andrew Lloyd Webber which flocked back memories. “It was a memorable moment,” said Natarajan. V. Natarajan is also known as Pyramid Natarajan because his production house Pyramid Films International which he formed after coming out of a decade-long work in Kavithalayaa Productions.
His three sons are well settled and he has ten films under the banner of his new production house, Enakkoru Magan Pirappan (1996), Love Birds (1996), Ettupatti Rasa (1997), Pistha (1997), Nandhini (1997), Ponmanam (1998), En Aasai Rasave (1998), Sangamam (1999), Rhythm (2000), and Udhaya (2004). Today V. Natarajan is a contended and successful man who credits his success to his wife’s constant support and love. “Failures made me resilient. Whatever the obstacle, I remained unfazed.”
