Vicran Elanggoven

Vickran Elanggoven is a Malaysian Tamil actor and singer. Vickran descends from the Indian Diaspora who migrated to Malaysia during the British era. He was born in 1988 in Port Klang in the Selangor state of Malaysia. He is part of the Malaysian Tamil hip hop band Outlaw – Malaysia. He has also worked in the Tamil film industry in movies like Geethaiyin Raadhai and Atcham Thavir. Vickran acted in the Tamil drama Annamalai based in Singapore. Vickran collaborated with PK Resh and the Asuran’z to create 2012 To Our Indian’s in 2012 which received mixed reviews. Vickran acted in the short film Big Gun alongside PK Resh. The film was directed and written by Havinash and released in 2014. Vickran formed the hip hop band Outlaw with the rapper and lyricist PK Resh and the rapper and commercial actor G’ Crack from Asuran’z, and the rappers Minista and G-Mac. The Outlaw collaborated with Iris and Mc Bullet to create the music video Mama Palam Konda in 2014. They created the intro song Kaththi for the movie Kaththi directed by AR Murugudass. The movie hit the screens on 22nd October 2014. The band released Unnakaagha Naan Iruppen on 17th November 2016 which made it to THR Raaga’s Malaysian Top Ten list. Outlaw – Malaysia released their first album Gethu in 2017. Prior to this, the band released a short series called Road To Gethu on 14th December 2016 with the IBP Studio. The series consisted of two episodes. Vickran received critical acclaim for his music video Ithu En Tamilzhaada in 2016. The music video pays tribute to Tamil, one of the oldest surviving languages of the world, praises some Tamil poets and writers, and emphasizes the importance of keeping the language alive by teaching the children. The song is played in many Tamil schools and events in Malaysia. Vickran acted in a supporting role as Jeeva alongside G Crack in the Tamil romantic comedy film Geethaiyin Raadhai directed and written by Shalini Balasundaram. The film hit the screens on 22nd September 2016. Vickran got a role in the upcoming Tamil film Atchum Thavir directed by S. S. Vikneshwaran Subramaniam and Karthik Shamalan and set to release in 2017. Vickran appeared with Mugen Rao on Ippadiyum Pannalama Life Hack on Astro Vinmeen HD 231 in March 2017. Vickran starred in the television film Iruvar Koodam directed by Jeyapragash Jeyamurthi and aired in 2017 on Astro channel 201.


Ambani Shankar

Ambani Shankar is a South Indian comedy actor who works in the Tamil film industry. His birth name is K. Sankarnarayanan. He was born on 17th May 1988 in Thirumangalam in Madurai in Tamil Nadu. He is known for his role in Tamil feature films like Ambasundaram Ambani and Pattathaari. The boyishly charming comedian tied the knot with Monica Nandhini in 2012. Inspired by comedy actor Vadivelu, Shankar moved from Madurai to Chennai in order to pursue a profession in acting in 2004. Unable to land a role, Shankar worked as a clerk at director K. Bhagyaraj’s office, where he first encountered the director N. Linguswamy. N. Linguswamy recruited Shankar in his Tamil action movie Ji in a small comedic role as a road-side mechanic, marking Shankar’s entry into the Kollywood film industry. The film hit the screens on 11th February 2005. Shankar continued to play small comedic roles in Tamil feature films like Aaru in 2005, Vallavan in 2006, Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar in 2007, Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan in 2008, Kuselan in 2008 and Padikkadavan in 2009. Shankar got his great breakthrough when he bagged a supporting lead role in the Tamil comedy movie Ambasundaram Ambani written and directed by P. S. Ramnath. He played a negative role as Karthi, lead villain Dhandapani’s assistant in the movie. After this, Shankar played roles in Tamil feature films like Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam in 2012, Pattathu Yanai in 2013, 144 in 2015, Nanaiyathae Mazhaiye in 2016, Adra Machan Visilu in 2016, Kodambakkam Kokila in 2016 and Pattathaari in 2016. Shankar’s played a small role in the globally acclaimed Tamil family drama film Kanavu Variyum directed and starred by Arun Chidambaram. It premiered at the 49th WorldFest Houston Film Festival in the US on 9th April 2016, made rounds at many festivals like the National Science Film Festival and Competition in India and won a few awards like the Platinum Remi and Special Jury Award at the previously mentioned festivals respectively. It hit the screens on 24th February 2017. Shankar appeared as a guest on the Tamil television show Manam Thirumbuthe which was aired on the channel Puthuyugam TV on 22nd August 2015. Ambasamudram Ambani did reasonably good at the box offices and got fine reviews. Shankar took the title Ambani from this film, turning his stage name into Ambani Shankar. He appeared in the Celebrity Badminton League along with many other Kollywood actors in 2015. He appeared in a Joy Alukkas commercial with the South Indian star Vijay in 2013.
