J Francis Krupa is a poet, novelist, and a film lyricist based in Chennai. He hails from Pathiniparai village near Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district. Francis Krupa has penned songs for movies like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. He has also co-written a screenplay for former Chief Minister Kamaraj’s biographical movie titles Kamraj. J Francis Krupa is the author of eight poetry collections, including Mallikai Kadhyas, Ehuval Nakshatra, Shadowless Ethumayavan, Summanasukadu, Messiah's Wounds (2002), Painful Breaking Lightning (2004), and A Novel: Kanni. He has won several awards, including the Sundara Ramasamy Award, the Sujatha Award (for Poetry Collection: Sammanasukadu), Meera Virudhu, and Vikadan Virudhu (2007) (for Virgin). Some of his songs have been featured in movies such as Alagarsami’s House, Vanilla Kabadi, and Rattinam. He died on September 16, 2021.
