Bellie Raj is an Indian playback singer who works for the Tamilian film industry. He is has been a struggling artist for many years, but now he has found success in the recent years. He was born in Ooty, a small hill station in Tamil Nadu, South India. Bellie has won the Tamil Film fare award for the best playback singer. He belongs to a family from the Nilgiri hills, Ooty, Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling from his hometown, after completing his education; he went to Bangalore to pursue a career in Hotel Management. Bellie as a kid did not know that he could sing. Once he sang in front of a group of people in his hometown, and he received a lot of appreciation. After graduation, Bellie, to hone his singing skills, went to a music academy in Bangalore for three years. He was under a training course under professional teachers there. Later, he took part in Sadhaga Paravaigal, a famous site for cinematic orchestra in Chennai. He was a part of it for almost five years. While Bellie was singing at the orchestra, music director James Vasanthan got impressed by his singing skills. James selected Bellie to sing a demo track; to Bellies’ fortune, he got shortlisted. He made his debut for the movie Subramaniapuram in 2008; he sang the song ‘Kangal Irandaal.' This song got Bellie the Film fare award for the best playback singer in the same year. It was Bellies’ break, the song became a hit and his eight years of struggle had paid off. He has given his voice for more than 13 South Indian movies; he has done stage shows in India and in other nations. In interviews he always thanks music director James Vasanthan for giving him an opportunity. The singer gets continuous offers for singing in movies and the artist has won many awards. He has won Vijay Award for best male playback singer, Best Singer award by Tamil Nadu Government, Isaiyaruvi's Rising Singer Star Award, Special Singer Award by Jaya TV and the Film fare Award
