Indian actor and playback singer S. C. Krishnan specialized in Tamil dramas and films. In 1929, while Sivaganga was still a part of the Ramnad district, he was born into a Saurashtra family as the fourth son of jeweler Chelvam Achary. In 1937, he became a member of the T. K. S. Brothers theatre group and began performing as a child actor. Additionally, he has performed in plays directed by N. S. Krishnan and K. R. Ramasamy. He served in the dramas Velaikari and Or Iravu by C. N. Annadurai, which were eventually adapted into movies. At the time, S. C. Krishnan was a young performer who participated in the Krishnan Theatrical Sabha drama group. The ensemble takes its name from well-known comedian N. S. Krishnan.

But when he was 20, he was disappointed that he hadn't been given enough chances to act in films. As a result, he abruptly left this acting group and started working for Modern Theatres studio. In 1949, he signed on with Modern Theatres as an artist who would be paid monthly, and he appeared in many of their movies. He started singing for movies and has since performed several iconic tunes. His debut performance was for the Modern Theatres-produced movie Kalyani. A hit was made of the solo Kalapadam. Despite his talent for traditional Carnatic music, producers and music directors forced him to devote his voice primarily to comedians.

He did, however, sing with T. R. Mahalingam on one song, Thathuva Kalaiyudan in Amudhavalli. The competition-style sequence allowed him to showcase his talent for classical music. He has only recorded one song for Sivaji Ganesan The Honorable Mr. Ganesan was the second son in hi >> Read More... , the opening track from Raja Rani Click to look into! >> Read More... , Leelaa, laalee, adhu polee. He spent some time as a music director for Chennai Television (Doordarshan) Kendra. The state of Tamil Nadu presented him with the Kalaimamani Award in 1981. He passed away in 1853.
