Aru Ramanthan

Aru Ramanathan is a well-known Tamil Nadu screenwriter, anchor, journalist, publisher, and writer. His birth date is 7 July 1924. His birthplace is Kandanur, Sivagangai District, Tamil Nadu. He studied at Pachaiyappan College, Chennai. At 18, he wrote his first work, Samsara Sagaram. He won the first prize for the play Rajaraja Cholan, which he wrote for the drama competition. The play was staged in 1955 and performed over 100 times. In 1945, he published the magazine Katahl in Trichy. His first short story was Chicken Race. Later, he wrote several short stories like Palayanur Neeli, Nayanam Soundra Vadigu, Ambigapathi, and Manoranjitham. His first novel was Asokan's Lover. His work Veerapandian's Wife was serialized in the magazine and later published in a book in three parts. His famous plays are Vetri Vel Veerathevan and Vanavil. He also wrote the dialogues for Rajaraja Cholan films such as Pooloka Rambai and Aravalli. He wrote a magazine on film information Kalamani. E also ran a newspaper from his house in Chennai.

In 1952, he began a publishing house by the name Prema Parsuram, in which he published and sold over 340 books like detective mystery novels, Siddhar songs, historical novels, Mythological books, legendary stories, and many more. He also serialized the novel Gundu Mallikai in 1963. He has also written research papers on Plato and Benjamin Franklin. He complied and published the mottos of Gandhi, Avvaiyar, Bharati, and Buddha. His other notable works are Sixty Three Stories, Bodhisattva Stories, Madana Kamarajan Stories, Ganesha Legend, A Timeless Love, Vikramaditan Stories, Cleopatra, Sundar's devotion and love, Stories told by Vedalam and many more. He passed away in 1974.
