Blade Shankar

Sankaranaryanan is a radio jockey by profession. He is popularly known as Blade Shankar. He was born on 23 March 1982. He lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is radio jockey, comedian, and also an actor. Blade Shankar did chemical engineering from Satyabama University in 2003 before becoming a radio jockey. He gained primary education from Spic Nagar Higher Secondary School in Tuticorin. He has a great love for playing a musical instrument and mimicking various artists. Shankar worked as an actor in many movies. He is popularly known for two movies Saguni (2012) and Sonna Puriyathu (2013).

The movies in which he acted include Ula (2018), Saguni (2012), Sonna Puriyathu (2013), Maragadha Naanayam (2017), Kanaa (2018), and Chitharam Pesuthadi 2 (2019). Blade hosts the morning shows, Blade No. 1 and Chinna Thampi Periya on Suryan FM Chennai. He started his career as an RJ in the year 2003 through a show Oor Suthalaam Vaanga on Suryan FM. In 2006, he started his work as a single Jock for the show “Blade No. 1” and dual jock show Chinna Thampi Periya Thampi which are still liked among the audience of Chennai.

RJ Shankar won and was recognized for many awards as well. Some of those rewards are, "Runner Up for best breakfast program Tamil- Blade No. 1 in the year 2019," "Winner for best breakfast program Tamil- Blade No. 1 in the year 2018," "Blade No. 1 was awarded as the Best Breakfast Program by IRF (India Radio Forum) in the year 2007," "Co Jock show 'Chinna Thampi Periya Thampi' awarded as Best Breakfast Program by IRF (India Radio Forum) in the year 2008 and 2009," "Blade No. 1 was awarded as the Best Breakfast Program by IRF (India Radio Forum) in the year 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016," and for continuous two years 2015 and 2016 he is the winner of “RJ of the Year (Tamil)” title by IRF. RJ Blade Shankar has won ""11 IRF awards till now in South India.
