Saara Deva Saara Deva is an Indian film actress who predomina >> Read More... is an Indian actress, who mainly contributes to Tamil and Malayalam films. She was born on 28th March 1994 as Sai Priya Deva in the capital city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu to businessman V.P. Devasenathipathy and his wife, Devika. Her family has century-old roots, working in the showbiz. Her great-grandfather, V.M.Paramasiva Mudalier, was the owner of the Sri Murugan Talkies in Mint, and used to sell the first eleven tickets at the counter daily for nearly sixty years till his demise in 2006.

The theatre was razed to the ground in 2011 due to its degrading condition. However, despite the family’s long history in the film business, Saara’s parents were reluctant to let her pursue a career in acting. She had to cry and fight against them many times before they agreed. She made her debut in the industry with the lead role of Sangeetha in P. Vasu’s horror-comedy “ Shivalinga Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (2017).

She had almost lost the opportunity to act in the film since, by the time she had arrived for the audition, the role had already been given to another actress. However, she received a call from P. Vasu a few days later telling her that the slot had re-opened. Saara had approached P. Vasu a few years earlier as well for casting but had been turned down because of her ‘childish features’.

She next appeared in Appukutty’s rom-com “Boom Boom Kalai” (2017), and Jose Sebastian’s Malayalam comedy-drama “ Ente Ummante Peru Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (2018). While the former movie failed to impress the viewers as much as expected, the latter was a hit and brought Saara high praise for her performance.

It was during the shooting of Ente Ummante Peru that she decided to revert to her original name Sai Priya. Saara’s latest project was the critically acclaimed horror-thriller “Meendum Va Arugil Va” (2018), directed by J. Jaya Rajendra Cholan. The movie revolves around the mystery behind some young girls who go missing, and a psychiatrist (played by Santosh Prathap), who faces supernatural obstacles in trying to solve it. Besides being a talented actress, Saara is a natural singer and skilled dancer too.
