Pragathi Guruprasad

Pragathi Guruprasad was born in the year 1997 in Singapore to Guru Prasad and Kanaga. She learnt Carnatic music from the age of 5 through her father. Their family relocated to California and there she learnt the vocal Carnatic from Sangeetha Swaminathan. Sangeetha was the student of the popular Carnatic vocalist Sudha Ragunathan. Due to her passion in music, her father took her to Chennai to participate in Airtel Super Singer, which was organized by Star Vijay TV. Pragathi’s talent was really enjoyed by the judges as well as the voice trainer Ananth Padmanabhan. As Pragathi is well versed in Carnatic music, she was able to move up to the next level in the competition easily. She was one among the competitors in the final of the Airtel Super Singer junior Season 3 held on 2012. She has won the hearts of the viewers as well as the third place in the finals. Pragathi was also awarded as the Best Classical Singer in the Airtel Super Singer junior Season 3. The popular music directors got very much impressed with her voice and gave her a good opportunity to sing under their music direction. She has worked with G. V.
