Annapoorani, also popularly known as Poorni, is an actress, an engineer and a VJ from Madurai, a major city in Tamil Nadu. She holds a BTech degree from the University of SASTRA, Tanjore, the historical city of Tamil Nadu. Poorni started off her career by hosting several shows in SUN Music. She has also hosted many shows for Raj Music, Captain TV, Vasanth TV and Mega TV. She also acted in a famous serial in SUN TV of the comedy genre, Mama Mapila. Poorni also featured in many magazines like Kumgumam, Ananda Vikatan, and Surya Kathir. She is also a common face in many advertisements. In 2010, she won Miss Photogenic and Miss Chinnathirai. It is a beauty contest conducted for small screen actresses. Miss Chinnathirai is not like usual pageants where size zero models walk the ramp, many attractive women from the small screen (serial and TV shows) rock the ramp with confidence. There are awards in different categories, such as best physique, best eyes, best complexion, best smile, best hair, best cat walker and best talent. Alongside famous actors like Santhanam and Arya, Annapoorani did the supporting role in the movie, Boss Engira Bhaskaran. Poorni portrayed the character of a blind woman. T

Bhaskaran meets Chandrika, a young girl with whom he falls in deep love. This way he decides to change his lifestyle completely, all in pursuit of marrying her. The tagline called Nanbenda got viral post release. The movie released in September 2010 to positive reviews at the box office. Currently, Poorni is working as an engineer in an MNC in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
