Maya Reddy is a Tamil actress who has acted in one major film and one exceptional short film. Maya is an extremely talented actress who focuses on making sure that she does her part with efficiency and helping others to do so too. Maya debuted in the Tamil movie “Kalloori” which was released in the year 2007. The movie was based on the colorful life of college students. Their friendship, love and melodrama fascinated the audience. The story is about a gang of friends, whose friendship is beyond measure. Even though one of the friends falls in love with the other, he can submerge his feelings toward her due to the strength of their friendship. The movie proceeds to show how three of them would die in an accident and even after eight years of the incidence; the friends would meet up and mourn for their loss.

In this exciting film, Maya Reddy plays the role of an extremely talented and intelligent Muslim girl ‘Salima’. Salima is an excellent student who tops in class. She is what appears to be the ‘teacher’s pet’, or the class nerd. This timid girl also has another side to her- a killer move on the dance floor. Maya was able to capture both these attributes of the character ‘Salima’ with utmost ease. She had to do a lot of homework to bring out the dancer in her to perfection. After her first film, Maya took a long break of seven years before committing to another project, a Tamil short film “Abracadabra”. “Abracadabra” is short mystery film with modern elements added to them. The story revolves around the theme of how a new age technology –VERTIGO- erases all the unwanted memories from the human mind.

Like the latter, this short film too was a huge hit. Needless to say, Maya put forth her best efforts for this short film.
