Senthamarai is a Tamil film actor who began appearing in movies since 1968. He was born as Kalyanaraman Senthamarai, in 1935, at Kancheepuram. His family includes his father Thiruvengadam, his mother Vedammal, and brother Kamalakannan. His first appearance was in 1968’s
Thillana Mohanambal, which became a super hit.
This was followed by 1977’s Kavikkuyil and 1978’s Andamaan Kadhali. He was then seen in the Majboor remake Naan Vazhavaippen (1979) and 1980’s Nenjathai Killadhey. Also, he made his presence in 1981’s Kazzhugu, 1982’s
Moondru Mugam, and 1983’s Adutha Varisu.
The year 1984 was an important year for him with five movies coming out: Anbulla Rajinikanth, Kuzhandhai Yesu, Thambikku Entha Ooru, Naalai Unadhu Naal, and Madras Vathiyar. With the films Aduthathu Albert, Manakanakku, Sri Raghavendra, Un Kannil Neer Vazhindal, and Kaakki Sattai releasing in 1985, he had two consecutive hit years. 1986’s Enakku Naaney Needhibathi, directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar, was his next film. The year 1987 had four of his movie releases
Rettai Vaal Kuruvi, Sattam Oru Vilaiyattu, Enga Ooru Paattukaran, and Chinna Poove Mella Pesu.
His late 1980 appearances include 1988’s Manasukkul Mathappu and
Guru Sishyan, 1989’s Rajanadai, Thiruppu Munai, and Paandi Naattu Thangam. His last few films are 1990’s Athisaya Piravi, Panakkaran, and Periya Veettu Panakkaran, 1991’s Kumbakarai Thangaiah, and 1992’s Nadodi Paattukkaran.
