Thanesh Perrabu

Thanesh Perrabu is a Tamil director and actor. He predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. He started his journey in the film industry as a lead actor in a short film directed by his brother, Viknes Perrabu. Thanesh is best known for directing the 2020 film Paramapatham alongside his brother Viknes Perrabu. Paramapatham follows the story of an archaeologist and his three friends, who come across an ancient board game with the word Paramapatham engraved on it, and their lives are forever changed. Thanesh has always been a fan of mythology, and it encouraged him to make this film.

He also worked as a director in the films Agrinai (2024) and Sathuriyan (2016). His film Paramapatham (2020) earned him several nominations and two awards at the Tagore International Film Festival (2020) in the Horror/Science Fiction/Genre Feature Film category and at the MLC Awards (2020) for Best Film Editing. He shared these awards with his brother, Viknesh Perrabu.

At the Top India Film Awards 2020, his film got three nominations in the following categories: Best Feature, Best Editing, and Best Original Idea. Their movie Paramapatham (2020) also received a nomination in the category of Best Foreign Language Film at the Prince of Prestige Academy Award and for the category Best Feature Film at the Rome Prisma Independent Film Awards, both in 2020.
