E Ramdoss is an Indian film screenwriter, director, and actor who works on Tamil films. Ramdoss was born in Villupuram; his parents were freedom fighter Ethirajalu Pillai and Poongavanam. As a child, Ramdoss usually watched movies, and during his college days, he developed an interest in screenwriting. In late 1979 Ramdoss moved to Mylapore, Chennai, while attempting to make a career in the Tamil film industry he became acquainted with Manobala, a budding filmmaker who was his neighbor. Manobala then introduced to different personalities in the film industry including T. K. Mohan for whom Ramdoss wrote his first screenwriting in Karadi(1980) an unreleased film.

In 1981 Ramdoss then worked with a director named P.S Nivas with whom he did his first screenplay in Enakkaga Kaathiru(1981) and was given screen credits for it. After working as a screenwriter with Navas, Ramdoss moved on to work as an assistant director to Manivannan with whom the did six films together. Afterward, he moved on to work with producer Kovai Thambi of Motherland Pictures, the success of several of Tambi's films earned Ramdoss a chance to make a directorial debut with Aayiram Pookkal Malarattum(1986) which starred Seetha and Mohan in the lead roles. The movie was a commercial success. Ramdoss's next film, Raaja Raajathan(1989) featured Gouthami and Ramarajan as the lead roles.

Apart from his role in the movie industry as a director Ramdoss has also collaborated with other directors as a writer and has made his contribution in several movies such as Makkal Aatchi(1995), Kanda Naal Mudhal(2005) and Sangamam(1999). Later on in his career Ramdoss started playing more roles as an Actor after he played the role of a ward boy in Vasool Raja MBBS a 2004 movie since then he has acted on films such as Vikram Vedha, Visaranai, KakkiSattai, Dharma Durai, and Yuddham Sei."
