Arumuga Kumar

Arumuga Kumar is an Indian film director and producer who made his debut in the film Industry in 2018. He was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in Jan 24th 1976. He completed his schooling in Tamil Nadu and he moved to Chennai later for his college education. He had a keen interest in Photography and Videography since his childhood. He always used to carry his camera along with him when he was young. In college, he got into Photography club and exhibited his talent. After graduation, he decided to get into Film school.

During his college days, he directed many short films for his college festival, competitions, and other college-level competitions. He made his debut in Indian Film Industry in 2018 with his movie Oru Nalla Naal Pathu Soldren, a Tamil comedy movie which released on 2 February 2018. The film was full of comedy and a package of family entertainment. In an interview, when asked about the efforts in choosing star cast, Arumuga Kumar said, ‘I did not choose Vijay Sethupati, I told him the story, he liked it and chose the project”. He is always concerned for his team members and is always appreciated by his team members. In an interview, Vijay Sethupathi said, “Arumuga Kumar’s clarity of thought is amazing. He knows what he wants and behaves the same way he used to treat me when I came to an audition for a film named Vernam”.

The movie was given three stars out of five and the work of Arumuga Kumar was well-appreciated as a debutant. Arumuga Kumar didn’t let any of these appreciations get on his head instead he thanked his entire team for their hard work in making his first movie a success. While on promotional events he said that “It’s all the hard work of my team and their support that this movie was a success in the box office”.

He made an announcement about this movie in a press conference. The movie was filmed mostly in Andhra Pradesh. During the promotional campaign of the movie, Arumuga Kumar and the makers of team purchased Ramnad Rhino team for a celebrity cricket match at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Malaysia. The soundtracks of the movie were launched during the opening of this event.
