Murali Raman

Murali Raman is a Tamil Creative Director, Director of Photography, writer, poet, Adman, blogger, television creative, short filmmaker, painter, photographer and installation artist. He completed Master of Arts (M.A) degree in English Language and Literature at the Madras University in 1980. After that, he studied Public Relations, Media, and Production at the Bhavan’s Harilal Bhagwati College of Marketing & Communication. Later, he took a P G Diploma course in Indian Art & Aesthetics at the Jnanapravaha, Mumbai in 2011. He is proficient in English, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, German, French, and Marathi (limited working proficiency) languages. Murali Raman is also an independent Creative Consultant – Copy - creation of fiction, screenplays, novels, film scripts, corporate & ad films Digital Content, and Social Media & Art. His past consultancies include Camp Hire, Liases, Percept D’Mark, freemontdigital.com, Adea, artiste booking, and so more after a rich career in leading advertising agencies.

He has worked as a Copywriter at R K Swamy BBDO for over three years (1982 – 1985). Then, he was a Group Head at Mudra Communications for two years (1988 – 1990). Later, he was a Sr. Vice President at CLEA Advertising & Marketing Ltd. For almost five years. From Mar 2003 to Dec 2007, he has worked as a Creative Director –Consultant at Greycells Entertainment Ltd. He was responsible for creative work, original feature films, documentary screeners’ production, creation of sports, vetting of international, entertainment & reality TV concepts, script- supervision, etc. Since Nov 2002, he has been working as an independent Creative Director. He is responsible for creative work like murals, paintings, feature film & TV conceptsand scripts, advertising campaigns, film, radio, print, website content, intranet, editing & post work for documentaries – lifestyle, wildlife, corporate, etc. Murali Raman has had multi-varied experience in his career in animation, corporate & short film-making, documentary, installation art, mural & canvas painting, TV series & production, Digital Marketing, and creative content.

He has creative directed two scripts for other feature film writer-directors, has co-produced, part-written, and creative directed three children’s teleserials – The Magic Make Up Box for Zee TV, Door DoorDoorbeen for Hungama TV, and Chi n Me for Zee TV.Also, he has made travel & tourism documentaries for Anala Outdoors on Manali& Himachal Pradesh, Medical NGOs, a fun short film, The Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, and Chocolate Xcess. He has written the screenplay for a fantasy feature film Tachyons – The Creation of Happiness. He has received CNBC Golden Cursor Award 2011 Best Edutainment Film for Molly in Toyland produced by Shemaroo – Dialog Script Writing & Direction, Supervision of Storyboarding & Editing. Also, he is the Cosmic Dream Sleep of Vishnu, an outstanding Achievement Award winner in Experimental films at the 3rd season of Druk International Film Festival (DIFF). He nominated for the prestigious Golden Dragon Awards.
