Anoop Shankar

Born in Kottayam, Kerala, on May 22, 1979, Anoop Sankar is a Malayalam movie Playback vocalist, media personality, Songwriter, RJ, Stage Performer, and VJ.He is the eldest son of Latha Sankar and T.A Sankar, who are vigorous music praisers. His mother is a trained established vocalist and the victor of traditional music competition in University of Kerala held in 1973.

Anoop started learning Carnatic classical music at six years old under the direction of Sri.Chalappuram Pappa for 12 years. He shifted to Chennai where he proceeded with his learning under the eminent performer Sri. Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan. He came into the spotlight after winning the 2002 version of the prominent melodic talent chase name 'Sapthaswarangal" broadcast on Sun TV channel. Around the same time, he alongside 20 artists with the name "Sangamam" placed the Guinness World Record for the lengthy melodic execution spanning more than 40 hours in Chennai at the Santhome Monfort School Auditorium on 21 and 22 September.
