K. S. Harisankar

K.S. Harishankar is a famous Malayalam film industry playback singer. He has made his debut at the very early age of 5 and with a great singer K.J. Yesudas in the movie ‘Saaphalyam’ released in 1999 and was directed by G.S. Vijayan. He was born in Haripad, Alappuzha district in Kerala, India. His father’s name is Dr. Alappuzha Sreekumar and his Mother’s name is Kamala Lakshmi.

He belongs from a musical background as his father was a principle of Swathi Tirunal Music College and his mother is a Veena player. He is the grandson of M.P. Gopalan Nair who was the chief engineer in All India Radio and Carnatic vocalist K. Omanakutty. Also, he is the nephew of Singer and music director Late M.G. Radhakrishnan and M.S. Sreekumar. He has a younger brother K.S. Ravisankar who is a violin player. He got married to Dr. Gadha Sidharthan in 2017. Some of his famous songs are ‘Kaatte Chaariya’ from movie Kaaranavar in 2014, ‘Payye payye’ from movie Ormayundo Ee Mukham in 2014, ‘Marhaba Marhaba’ from movie Lailaa O Lailaa in 2017, ‘Pavizha Mazhaye’ from movie Athiran in 2019 and so on. K S Harisankar was born on November 18, 1993, in Haripad, Alappuzha district, Kerala, India. He is an Indian playback singer. He preferably works in the Malayalam film industry. He is the elder son of his father Dr. Alappuzha Sreekumar, Principal of Swathi Tirunal Music College, Trivandrum, Kerala and mother, Veena Vidooshi, along with his younger brother K.S. Ravisankar, who is a violinist.

He belongs from a family, who is already having a musical background as Harishankar's grandfather, M.P.Gopalan a ir was a Chief Engineer in All India Radio & famous singer K. Omanakutty. He is also the great-nephew of late M. G. Radhakrishnan and M.G.Sreekumar, a singer and a music director respectively.

He started his career from a very young age in the year 1999, when he was just five years old, which was Saphalyam from the movie Rishivamsam.
