Lakshmi Priya is a well-known name who established herself in the Malayalam showbiz industry with her natural acting skills and her humorous anecdotes. She was first seen on television and then moved into films. She was passionate about acting since childhood but came to the industry after her marriage with Jayesh. She made her movie debut through Mohanlal starrer, and Joshiy directed movie Naran. She played the character of Pushpa, sister to Actress Bhavana’s character and a divorcee with one child. She had very little to perform in that movie, but her acting got well noticed. She did another movie with the same team as the sister of actor Dileep in Lion. She also did two movies with the late director A.K. Lohithadas, Chakkaramuthu, and Nivedyam, in comedy roles which was a break from the stereotyped roles she did so far. Her actual Break happened through director Sathyan Anthikkad movie, Bhagyadevatha featuring as Jayaram’s sister. The movie was a hit and her role got noticed. Another hit was again with Sathyan Anthikkad movie, Kadha Thudarunnu where she featured as a brave orphan girl who helps the lead actress in finding a living. So far she has acted in more than 65 movies appearing mostly in comic roles and character roles. But Lakshmi Priya expects that she will get good roles that would remain with the audience, than acting in many numbers of movies.
Other than movies Lakshmi Priya is a dancer. She is trained in classical dances like Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali, and Ottanthullal. She was also a Kalathilakam during her school days. She is married to Jayesh, an employee at Manorama news. His father was a singer who was singing for theatre plays, and he continues his father’s legacy by starting a music school in Thrissur. They are now settled in Thrissur.
