Shefin Mayan is an Indian sound designer, editor, and mixing engineer. Shefin is from Ernakulum, Kerala. His family lives in Elam Desam, near Alakode in Kerala. Between 2007 and 2010, he earned a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic College in Muttom. Shefin received his Sound Engineering Diploma from SAE Chennai in 2011. Shefin won the International Medimix Short Film Festival for Best Sound Designer for the short film Mangiyoranthi in 2017. So far, Shefin has worked in over ten feature films in languages Malayalam and Tamil.
He has also worked in about a hundred short films and more than five hundred advertisements. In 2017, Shefin was nominated for Best Sound Designer for the film Ottamuri Velicham at the 48th Kerala State Film Awards. He won the Barath PJ Anthony award in the following year for Best Sound mixing in the film Nadakantham. Some of Shefin Mayan’s other well-known works as a sound composer are Kumbarees (2019), Anan (2020), and Dakini (2018). Â
