Ajit Abraham George

Ajit Abraham George, commonly known as the sound guy of the Indian Film Industry, is a renowned Re-recording mixer - sound mixing engineer across many languages. He was born into a Malayalam household. He completed SSC at St. John's high school in Eraviperoor and later pursued a BSc degree. Physics from Mar Thoma College in Kuttapuzha. In 1995 he went to Pune to study Diploma in Sound Engineering from the Film and Television Institute of India. He works as a freelancing mixing engineer and as an adjunct professor in the Department of Design at IIT Hyderabad. Ajit has 25 years of experience in the audio engineering field. He served different roles in these 25 years. He worked as a senior Audio engineer in Real Image Media Technologies Pvt Ltd in his earlier days. He went on to work in the renowned Annapurna Studios Pvt Ltd. as Chief Mixing Engineer.

The company is the first Dolby Atmos Premier Mixing Facility in South India. He served as Technical and operational head in Vismayas Max Studio Complex at Trivandrum. He made it into the studio, with the best audio post-production facility with Dolby Atoms mixing in Kerala. Later He also worked as Technical Head in DSMC Studios, Thiruvalla, which is under Mar Thoma Syrian church.

He mixed and mastered many songs and music for various productions in the studio. Ajit was instrumental in setting up KR Narayanan National Film Institute in Kottayam, Kerala which is the first film institute run by the government of Kerala and even served as the faculty and HOD Audiography in the institute. Ajit mixed more than 6000 songs of multiple music directors in various languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and, Hindi. He won several awards for his contribution to the film industry. He won the Kerala State film award for Albuthadweep in 2005 and Sufium Sujathayaum in 2020 and the prestigious Rajat Kamal Award for the non-feature documentary film In Return Just a Book in 2017.
