Prakash Bare grew up in Chirakkal, in Kannur district of Kerala. He graduated from NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, Kerala. He was a smart and enthusiastic student during his college days he has won many accolades including in the best actor category in the Calicut University Inter-zone festival. He later did masters at IIT, Kanpur in Microelectronics. He worked a technologist and entrepreneur for fifteen years in Silicon Valley, California before venturing into the film world. He was one of the co- founders of GDA Technology Inc.
He made his acting debut in the Malayalam movie Sufi Paranja Kadha and became a part of more than twenty films later in Malayalam, Kannada and Marathi. He is well appreciated for his role in the 2012 movie Ivan Megharoopan where he dons the character of poet KP Madhavan Nair. He also co-produced the movie with Gopa Periyadan and Thampi Antony under the banner of Silicon movies. The movie was written and directed by P. Balachandran. The movie was based on the autobiography of the poet Kunhiraman Nair, Kaviyude Kalpadukal.
