Lijin Jose

Lijin Jose was born on May 1st, 1978, in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. He is a Filmmaker and Director and has worked on many short films, feature films, and films, primarily in the Malayalam film industry. He went to St.Mary's H.S. Kainakary and Sd. College Alappuzha. He did his Post Graduation from the University of Kerala in English language and literature. He has also done a Post Graduation diploma from the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) in filmmaking. Lijin began his career in 2003 as an assistant director. He worked on Ivar, The Journey, Chacko Randaaman, Winter, and Seetha Kalyanam as an assistant director. His first film as a director was Conditions Apply in 2010. It was a short film, and he also did the screenwriting for it. After that, he directed the film Friday in 2012.

Later, he directed several films, such as Unfriend (2014), Law Point (2014), Her (2022), and Chera (2021). In Conditions Apply, he worked as a screenwriter as well. He also made a documentary in 2017 named 8½ Intercuts: Life and Films of K.G. George on the life of the veteran filmmaker of Malayalam cinema, K.G. George. He has also directed various short films and TV shows, such as Unfriend (2014), Strange Homes (2008), Anweshi (2004), and many more.

He has been nominated for several prestigious awards for his films Conditions Apply, Friday, Unfriend, and the documentary 8½ Intercuts: Life and Films of KG George, and has won many of them. When he was doing his diploma, he made a project film, Night Is Difficult to Cut, which won the best student film award from UGC-CEC. Lijin is also an actor. In 2020, he directed and produced the short film Atmanirbhar and also debuted as an actor in the film. This film was for the India Film Project's (IFP) 50-hour challenge. He is the founder of Every Dog Has Its Day Productions and Make My Theatre.
