Vidyadharan Master is a Malayalam music composer who began his career in the 1980s. He has, so far, given music composition for nearly 125 popular songs in Malayalam cinema. His next project was in the year 1983, when he bagged contract for two movies, 'Ashtapadi', and 'Veenapoovu'. In the year 1984, the Malayalam movie 'Ente Gramam' released. The film had musical score by Vidyadharan. In the year 1987, he composed music for four Malayalam movies. In those days, there used to be maximum four to five songs in a film, and hence, the music composer managed to compose only two or four songs in the project he received. He had never compromised on quality, and his songs were very classical. The composition was also of very high standards. Although the composer did not compose music for many movies in Malayalam cinema, he strengthened South Indian classical music by composing songs for devotional albums.

He has given music for the maximum number of devotional songs, which were mostly private albums. Some of the compositions of his songs in movies were high-standard and it required master voices of Yesudas, S. Janaki, K. S. Chithra, and even M. G. Sreekumar. He belonged to the old traditional style of music and has even composed music for folk songs. If one hears a couple of songs sung by veteran playback singer Yesudas, one can easily feel that his standards in this music industry are of high quality.

His songs, 'Chandanam Manakkunna', 'Nashta Swargangale Ningalenikkoru', and 'Kalpantha Kalatholam' were all high-pitched songs, and only Yesudas has matched the scale. The music composer has composed music in Noolappam' (2016), and 'Ithinumappuram' (2015).

Alphons Joseph is an Indian playback singer and music composer. The movie Vellithira was a turning point in his music career. The song Aaromale from the Tamil movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (composed by A R Rehman) was sung by Alphons, and he got an appreciation for singing that song.  Alphons entered the film industry with the help of his friend Leo Thadavus, who introduced him to director Bhadran. At that juncture, Bhadran was looking for a fresh music composer for his film Vellithira. During the audio release function of the movie A R Rehman complimented Alphons for the distinct beauty in the songs. The songs Nee Manimukiladakal and Hridayasakhi of this movie deserve special mention.  Jalotsavam was the next movie of Alphons, and the number Kera Nirakal rocked the charts, and Alphons was appreciated. Big B was the next rocking number by Alphons. This movie was directed by Amal Neerad and the numbers Vida Parayukano and Muthu Mazhai were highly appreciated.  Born on 8th July 1973, Alphons hails from Thrissur. His family was musically inclined, and Alphons had imbibed Carnatic Music, Classical Guitar, and Western Music. From 2000, Alphons was associated with Asia-net Radio 657AM. This is a radio station based in Dubai. Even after Vellithira was released Alphons worked with this radio station; he gave music for several title tracks and jingles.  Alphons was one of the founders of a gospel music band named Rexband. This band had produced few albums. This band mixed Western music with Carnatic and Hindustani music. This band is popular globally, and it has the credit of being the only band in Asia to get an opportunity to associate with World Youth Day.  Alphons has given his voice for his Rexband band and also few film numbers for which he composed the music. The song Aaromale from the Tamil movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaya was not only a hit in Tamil Nadu and Kerala but also overseas. The song Nee Eppa Pulla Solla Pora from the Tamil movie Kumki s had his beautiful rendition. The Tamil songs Yarukkum Thozhanillai and Enge Odugindrai are also sung by Alphons. The Malayalam version of the song Chellena Oru Mazhai Thuli from the Tamil movie Raja Rani was sung by Alphons, who had also written the Malayalam lyrics.  Alphons is pursuing M.A in music. Alphons is working as a permanent jury in Amrita TV Superstar 2, which is a reality show. Moreover, he got himself associated with Jai Ho Concert-The Journey Home of A R Rehman. 


M. G. Radhakrishnan

Born on 29 July 1940, in Alappuzha district, Kerala, Malabar Gopalan Nair Radhakrishnan (M.G. Nair) is a classical music director and even a vocalist, who is considered as a senior most musician in Malayalam movies. . His father was a renowned music composer and harmonium player and mother was a Harikatha exponent. His brother M.G. Sreekumar is an eminent playback singer in Malayalam cinema and his sister K. Omanakutty is a renowned vocalist too. Malabar Gopalan Nair was a classmate of renowned singer K. J. Yesudas.  Gopalan’s journey began as a composer in Akashvani  in Trivandrum. Soon he joined All India Radio as a music composer and was given a chance to hold a 15-minute program in AIR, which became a favorite. He forayed into musical journey as a singer in the film ‘Kallichellamma’(1969).  He rendered the song ‘Unniganapathiye’, which was composed by K Raghavan, His debut as a musical composer was for the film ‘Thampu’ (1978). But he shot to  fame composing songs ‘Mouname Mouname’ and’ Kudayolam Bhoomi’ from the film ‘Thakara’ (1980).  Gopalan is well known for giving first break to singers like Sujatha and G. Venugopal through his non-filmi songs. He also introduced singers like K.S.Chitra and M.G.Sreekumar to film music. Both Chithra and Sreekumar received the National Awards for rendering songs under his composition. Even eminent singer S.Janaki rendered the most melodious songs “Mauname” in the film ‘Thakara’ and “Natha Nee Varum“ in the film ’Chamram”.  Gopalan has scored great music for director G.Aravindan and later composed songs for Fazil, I.V.Sasi, Priyadarshan, Bharathan etc. He has been active for more than 28 years as a music composer in films and has scored music for over 100 films. Many of his films received national film awards too. They include "Manichithrathazhu", "Peruvazhiyambalam","Thambu" & "Kummatti" etc. He passed away on July 2, 2010, in Thiruvananthapuram.
