Paloma Monnappa is a Mumbai-based surfer, model, TV host, an actor and a travel enthusiast. She does some project for Discovery channel. When she was shooting for a Discovery channel project, she was almost 4-months traveling and meeting all the amazing people and had a deep encounter with them all along the way. Her co-anchor for this project was Meraj Shah who is also a noted travel writer. Through this project, she was able to discover India a different way.
As a model and DJ, she is very popular and has been the face of national advertising campaigns. Later on, her popularity increased as she hosted a travel show that aired on Discovery. She is one-half of Mumbai-based DJ duo Algorythm.
Since she is a renowned surfer, she is considered to be a natural babe in water. It is a typical conversational show for Discovery channel and she has been traveling to Arunachal Pradesh, Chennai and ended in Ladakh and Kashmir. Initially, she surfed at Ganpatiphule, Velneshwar, Kashid, Goa and some other spots as they had discovered these locales along the way.
She liked the clean blue water of sea in Chennai and told media that she had a great real surf session at Covelong with Chennai people. She understood that Chennai village girls are a great natural surfer and picking up this sport because water is clean and blue in the sea.
As a true model, Paloma started off her eclectic careers by being a freelance fashion stylist. Later, as a disc jockey, Paloma enjoyed DJing, or even a hip-hop or electronic dance music with her electronic dance project Algorythm, and acting as well.
In addition, she worked in a short film which was scripted in the backdrop of victims of acid attack and given the title Doon Ke Na Doon. This film was directed by Myuhit Ali & Tania Gupta.
Her first debut in a movie was in a Malayalam road-trip film titled ‘Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi’ which was an inspiration for The Motorcycle Diaries based on the early life and travels of Che Guevara.
The entire film was shot in the north-eastern state of Nagaland and completed its shooting in just four months. The film featured
and in this movie, she played the role of a surfer girl. The film was directed and produced by Sameer Thahir.
She’s half Coorgi, half Tibetan, as her mom is Tibetian and father is a Coorgi. She grew up in Mumbai; one could say that travelling is in her blood. But that is not all, she always wants to explore new frontiers, meet new people and push her horizons as far that can go.
Even in the Malayalam movie opposite Dulquer Salmaan, she was not shown as a hot babe but as a sea surfer. The science talks about a soft romance on beach beautifully shot in between morning and dusk.
