Born on March 25, 1984, in Kerala, Nyla Usha is already a popular TV host in Saudi Arabia. She has later worked her way up through the ranks of promising actresses of the younger generation by acting with Mammootty. After graduating from a college in Trivandrum, she eventually landed up in a radio station Hit 96.7 in the United Arab Emirates where she worked as a radio jockey. In addition, she was a host of the Big Breakfast Club (BBC) programme, and now is the new promising star of the Malayalam film industry in India. Nyla was also a TV host for a morning show in BBC which was the much-watched show by Kerala people all over the world. Her popularity of a jockey and TV anchor continued to increase, and she became a renowned anchor, TV host, radio Jockey, and many of her shows or programmes marked the most-heard programme in the radio station.

In 2007, she married Rona Rajan and the couple even has a child. After her 10 years successful service in TV and radio station, she joined the mainstream Malayalam cinema as a leading heroine opposite big names in Mollywood. She later got prominent roles in Mollywood which established her as a big actress very soon. As she has a tall feature and outlook, she had a dream to work as an air hostess. Right after her college, she moved to UAE and had begun her career in the radio station. After her marriage, she got the privilege to act with Mollywood superstar Mammootty, Nyla got to act with Mammootty as the director knew Nyla very well as she had interviewed him through radio and TV presentation. It was later on director Salim Ahamed offered her the lead heroine opposite Mammootty in’ Kunjananthante Kada’ which released in 2013. In the same year, she had signed two more films; one was ‘Punyalan Agarbatti’ opposite Jayasurya (2013) and the other one was ‘gangster’ opposite Mammootty which released in 2014.

Although she has given four successful movies in a row, she will continue to be radio jockey as she feels her association with the Dubai crowd has been almost like a family. Hence, she will not part away from them. Right from her childhood, she was a big fan of Mammootty and had always wanted to act with him. Although her family was against her deep interest in movies, she had fulfilled the dream at last. Her 2015 film ‘Fireman’ opposite Mammootty has been received well by the audiences and she is now one of the top heroines who have seen success at a very early stage. Nyla wants to enjoy her stardom and want to act in more movies at least for a couple of years.
