Navya Nair is a familiar face on Mollywood. Navya is known for her portrayal as a native Malayali girl in her movies. Navya Nair, also known as Dhanya Veena was born on 14th October 1985. She was born to Raju and Veena in Allepey, Kerala. She is related to the famous director to K.Madhu. She completed her schooling in Bethany Balikamadom High School.

Navya was so passionate about movies that, she started her film career when she was just 16. She debuted with the film Ishtam in 2001, which was a blockbuster. There onwards her career gained a momentum, and she acted with many biggies on Malayalam screen. She shared the screen with Mammootty, Mohanlal, , Jayaram, etc., her movie Saira had been displayed at the prestigious Cannes film festival in 2007. She came to lime light as Balamani in Nandanam. She has won Kerala State award for best actress for that movie. Some other notable performances of her can be seen in Chathurangam, Vellithira, Gramophone, Jalolsavam, Parayam. She also acted few movies in Tamil and Kannada, but she has not gained craze in those fields as she gained in Mollywood.

In 2010, Navya married Santosh Menon, a Mumbai based business and they have a child named . After marriage, she gave a break to movies but participated in many reality shows. She is the judge in and Delishus Star. In 2012, she played a small role in Drishya, a Kannada movie.
