Khadeeja is an Indian Malayalam actress who was born in Odakaali Perumbavoor, Kerala. She is one of the eminent and acclaimed artist of the late 60’s and 70’s. Being born in a Muslim family, she had to face a lot of difficulty in learning dance in Kalamandalam.
On November 2014, she came again on the screen for The Kerala Express, anchored by Biju Muthathi, which explores the birthplaces of great personalities in the field of art, literature and acting. Khadeeja divulged about the suffering she had from her community for learning Mohiniyattom.
From a Muslim village in Malabar to the renowned halls of Kerala Kalamandalam Khadeeja her voyage is an inspiration for each of us. In 1968, she acted in Viruthan Shanku, which was a full-length comedy directed by P. Venu in Malayalam cinema. She had worked in about 70 films in Malayalam. Khadeeja work in the Malayalam cinema will continue to motivate various artists from the Kerala and will be admired in the decades to come.
